Strange Spider - Micrathena gracilis

Strange Spider - Micrathena gracilis
LaFayette, Walker County, Georgia, USA
August 1, 2005
Size: small
I've never seen this kind of spider before now, but they are all in my yard here in north Georgia. I spotted this one when I almost walked into its web, and there were two others only a couple of feet away w/webs in between the same two bushes.

Lovely!
This looks amazingly like the two in my back yard here in New Lenox, IL. They are both very lovely, and are out on their web 24/7, unlike the nocturnal Neoscona crucifera that live near them.

Micrathena gracilis
I think this is Micrathena gracilis.

Thanks. :)
Thanks, Chris. :)
