Synchlora Caterpillar ??? - Synchlora

Synchlora Caterpillar ??? - Synchlora
Plainboro/ Plainsboro Preserve, Middlesex County, New Jersey, USA
August 1, 2005
Size: ~14 mm
Pretty sure this is a Synchlora caterpillar based on its behavior. It was a little larger than some I've seen in the past.

BTW, Eisner has a paragraph on Synchloras' behavor at http://www.americanscientist.org/template/AssetDetail/assetid/21878?&print=yes. Scroll down to "Dressing to Disappear" at the bottom of the page.

Don't know how you ever saw this.
