E. marginipennis
looks like that - now where do I get the distribution data?

E. subrotundus Casey 1899
Gordon's(1) (of course) distro for E. marginipennis extends west to central TX, north through central Kansas. E. subrotundus Casey is the only Exochomus with this coloration (can also have wider pale areas across entire base) in your area. Distro is scattered but appears to be generally the southwest, into southern TX through Big Bend and along the Rio Grand. Gordon does state that the two species do not overlap.

You're in prime teritory for new ladybirds for BugGuide! Keep'm coming, and another new species for BugGuide :)

PS: Leng in 1908 page 40 had this one as E. fasciatus var. subrotundus, but appears to have elevated it in a 1920 pub.

Thanks, Tim
I'm always looking!

I cannot find any
in AZ. I am looking at 'Notes on Coccinellidae' Leng, Mar. 1908, Jour. New York Entomological Soc. Vol. XVI Pg. 38 http://books.google.com/books?id=GnIVAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA39&lpg=PA39&dq=exochomus+marginipennis&source=bl&ots=GAF5EZF5fd&sig=8_ZK_pR5EHu6OtCVxmb72dorq3g&hl=en&ei=4n7mSeOrGZPItAPuwcDiAQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6#PPA29,M1
