this is certainly Anorus ariz
this is certainly Anorus arizonicus, and if they're coming in in large numbers, I'd be out in the dark looking for their larviform females; they remain undiscovered....re....Blaisdell 1934 Rare North American Coleoptera. Transactions of the American Entomological Society 60:317-326

. Crystal Maier confirmed this ID for me using Mike Ivie's collection (we have only one ragged CA specimen here). Three described species in the southwest. A new subfamily for the guide!"

I completely missed this post!
Thank you so much - and Dr. Gimmel and collegue!The beetles are still turning up by the hundreds at the light. I can see how they get ragged in collections - they start out ragged. But if anyone wants them frozen and in a swap of tissue with alcohol for transport - I can get them right now.
