Rescued from frass
Not wishing to contribute to a glut of "UFOs" (Unidentifiable Fly-like Organisms), I had decided to discard this image after the passing of several days without identification. I understand that not all species (especially flies) can be identified from photos, so thanks for the ID that rescued this one from Frass!
