Red-headed Ash Borer - Neoclytus acuminatus - female

Red-headed Ash Borer - Neoclytus acuminatus - Female
Kiefer, Creek County, Oklahoma, USA
April 16, 2009

Beetle
This is a beetle, I think one of the longhorn beetles. The pattern reminds of Lepturini (Flower Longhorns) or Clytini (Wood boring beetles).

The straight line down the middle of the back is where the wing covers meet.

Looks like...
... a Red-headed ash borer, Neoclytus acuminatus , though I seem to recall that there are other Neoclytus species that look similar.
