Small bee to ID

Small bee to ID
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
August 2, 2005
This small bee was alone on these flowers. There were other bees etc around though. It was very small compared with honey bees etc. ID would be great. I had put this in earlier today but something must have gone wrong as I can't see it about.

Tribe Eucerini
This is one of those apids (formerly Anthophorids) that belongs in the tribe Eucerini. The long antennae of males, such as this specimen, are pretty disctinctive. Might be a species of Melissodes, but would need to key out the specimen to be certain.

Bee ID
Thank you Eric for the info. I thought it was a new one for me.
