Lucanus capreolus - Male
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
August 1, 2005
Size: 37 mm including mandibles
This male died a couple days after mating, which Maria Fremlin tells me is typical. I popped him into ethanol so I could shoot him at my leisure. Here he is, dead, dried off and ready!
