Spider in a little thimble of web - Diguetia

Spider in a little thimble of web - Diguetia
Near Desert Center, just north of I-10, Riverside County, California, USA
April 17, 2009
These small spiders were very common out in the desert, making little houses suspended in the center of their webs. Attached to creosote, mustard, and whatever other vegetation they could get ahold of.

Probably Diguetia
which has been given the common name of "desertshrub spider." Does the web flare out below the thimble, in a broad, loosely woven sheet?
