Identification
Pronotum may be completely black with red lateral margins, may have a red medial vitta or be completely red.

Range
AZ-FL-NY-MT / ON-QC (3), one of the most commonly coll'ed sp. in Alabama (2)
However, no specimens have been collected from eastern Canada in the last 68 years, consequently, this sp. is likely extirpated from the eastern Canadian fauna. (4)

adults coll'ed from Baptisia, Amorpha, Quercus, plus other plants (5)
Remarks
"Here appears luridus, the first of our species to receive a name. A common species, known to all collectors." (Fall 1915)
