I forgot some of long-horned beetles look like leaf beetles. ^^

Moved from Gaurotes thoracica.

Thanks, All
I have enjoyed the comments, and appreciate the time taken to look at these images, and for identifying this little beetle!
Audrey

neither soldier nor leaf beetle
this is a longhorn -- others will tell which one (has to be smtg in the Gaurotes/Acmaeops neighborhood)

Guarotes
G. thoracica, a rare species.

thanks --
no wonder i didn't see it in the Guide... well, there was one -- a male, i guess (quite diff-looking, too)
glad i wasn't off genuswise

Thank you
for casting doubt on my too-quick-on-the-draw identification. I was wrong. It actually is a color form of Brachysomida bivittata (Say).

It's a leaf beetle.
Someone would help with ID. ^^

Oops!
Thanks - I guess I had soldier beetles on the brain - it seemed that most of the beetles I saw that weekend were ID'd as "a soldier beetle of some kind"!

Thanks for the prompt reply - I'll research further.
