Long-horned beetle - Achryson surinamum

Long-horned beetle - Achryson surinamum
Picture Rocks, NW of Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
April 22, 2009
Size: 19 mm
Now it's summer in AZ: yesterday more than 90F, last night the first rattler on the patio and tonight the first bycid.

Nice beetle!
I have noticed that your area and south Texas have many of the same beetles and moths. Same temps also. It was 99° here yesterday.

You've the better beetles
and the higher temps - but not by far!

Achryson
A. surinamum (Linnaeus)

Thank you very much for the ID
i have set up the genus and species page
