California Sister? - Adelpha bredowii

California Sister? - Adelpha bredowii
William R. Mason Regional Park, Orange County, California, USA
April 26, 2009
Size: about Red Admiral sized
The habitat for this (Coast Sage Scrub, inland plains, riparian) was spot on for Lorquin's Admiral but looking at the photo it really seems a better fit for California Sister. Note especially that the orange does not extend to the wingtips, but also the pattern of the white spots and the greenish tinge along the upper wing. Am I wrong?

Moved

California Sister it is.
I've shot a lot of Lorquin's Admiral at San Joaquin Marsh (nearby). The closest I've seen California Sister is at Bommer Canyon, where they were high in the oaks.
