Pupa - Harmonia axyridis

Pupa - Harmonia axyridis
Churchville Nature Center, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 15, 2005
Lady bug pupa, perhaps Harmonia axyridis?
Southeastern PA

Thanks

yes, H. axyridis
The double-branched spines of the larval "skin" are diagnostic for the species, and the central two rows of tubercules, what's visible of them, are orange. The pupa pattern is also typical of H. axyridis, but as with the adults, pupal color and pattern are variable. The larvae are consistent, though.
