Apparently a very rare species. Identified by Robert Otto. Collected in an emerald ash borer trap baited with manuka oil.

Dr. Thomas--I thought the Emerald Ash Borer was a relatively recent introduction-They were already in Florida back in 1969?

Emerald ash borer is not in Florida, but we are already trapping so that when it arrives we'll know in short order.

I notice you say "when it arrives" not "if it arrives." How close to Florida is the nearest confirmed capture that you know of?

 
Coastal Virginia
Which is roughly similar to the rest of the southeastern coastal area. Ash grows throughout Florida and in Asia Agrilus planipennis occurs in areas that suggest it could survive in Florida.
