Synonyms and other taxonomic changes
The systematics of this group is in flux. Some authors have split Palpatores into the groups Eupnoi (including Phalangioidea and Caddoidea) and Dyspnoi (including Troguloidea and Ischryopsalidoidea). Others support the retainment of Palpatores, arguing that the Eupnoi/Dyspnoi clades are paraphyletic.

Throughout USA and Canada, from the USA border with Mexico to at least 73° N in Canada.
