Hwy. 1 (Fraser canyon), ~ 14 km S of Lytton, 50.1220 N & -121.5564 W, Thompson-Nicola, British Columbia, Canada
May 25, 2008
This adult emerged from an egg i found in late May 2007. The host plant was some kind of Gallium sp. Larvae are very easy to rear until pupation, when most decide to give up on life and die for some unknown reason. Out of 20 larvae i only got two pupae, which overwintered as such and only one produced an adult the following May (2008). The other died in April (2008) with the adult half developed inside.

Gorgeous
Great find and great shot.

Thanks Lynette,
It is a pretty moth indeed!
