Moved from Anisota.

A. virginiensis or near it, I think
This might be identifiable to species. Anisota virginiensis is supposed to have that purplish margin and no spots, see guide page for genus, and the species. See note there about the southern A. pellucida, however, not mentioned by my reference for that guide.

So this is one of those "likely species identification" situations, perhaps.

It's a female, at any rate.

Thanks. I had placed it as A.
Thanks. I had placed it as A. stigma previously, but it didn't strike me as being correct, due to lack of spotting. I am definitely no lepidopterist.
