Range
M. arachidis, the Chief Earwig, is a tropical cosmopolitan sp. mostly associated with stored products, spread with commerce, and established in southernmost states (FL to CA);
M. pulchella occurs in se.US west to TX and may be common under bark of pine and hardwoods(1);
no available data on M. unidentata distribution (ITIS info is inaccurate). "I have no information on the Nearctic distribution of M. unidentata except for its recorded occurrence here by Poole & Gentili (1997: Nomina Insecta Nearctica, Vol. 4)." --M.S. Engel, pers. comm. to =v= 28.xii.2009
