2 miles southeast of Rustler's Park, Chiricahua Mts., Cochise County, Arizona, USA

Size: 16 mm
This beetle was flying along the side of the road between Portal and Rustler's Park. Screeched to a halt, jumped out of the car and nabbed him. The first of this genus in my collection.

Just a guess, based on names Margarethe has mentioned. I have no contact info for him, but my contact info is on my personal info page on Bugguide. I can send this specimen, by the way, if that is necessary to ID it.
