A very striking one. Probably daddy to some of those millions that swarmed over the Great Plains in 2007.

Thanks for the ID confirm. Hadn't heard about that swarm, but it sounds interesting.

 
Mostly they were hiding in prairie grass
so they weren't that noticeable unless you were walking around among them, but at night some of the brighter lights were definitely swarmed with them. As far as I know, they didn't become a problem, except they were competing with the cattle. They were numerous in places I'd never seen them before (such as a number of counties in eastern Colorado).
