Ground spider - Sergiolus capulatus - male

Ground spider - Sergiolus capulatus - Male
Miller Dunes, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Bioblitz, Gary, Lake County, Indiana, USA
May 16, 2009
Size: ~4-5mm
A ground spider, likely in the genus Sergiolus?, looking for all the world like an ant, came running across the dune and it was not eager to stop and get its picture taken. We're thinking from the size of the palps that this is a male.
