Larva? of ???

Larva? of ???
Lacey (near Olympia), Thurston County, Washington, USA
May 16, 2009

pupa, rather
out of ideas

hmmm
Well, the bottom part wriggled around like a typical larva, but the structure on the other end??

There were three of these critters under part of the bark of a fallen log I found in the woods behind my house.

Netwing beetle?
I'll bet this is the pupa of a netwing beetle. Moving to that neighborhood of classification, but willing to be overruled by a more expert opinion. Nice find!
