Promethea moth
This looks much more like a female promethea moth (Callosamia promethea) rather than a tulip tree moth (C. angulifera) which are less red in color. Both species are found in PA.

Callosamia angulifera - Tulip-tree Silkmoth - Hodges#7765

i think the columbine was a c
i think the columbine was a colorado transplant, but i'm not 100% sure.

the moth hatched in our basem
the moth hatched in our basement and was placed on the columbine which was growing in our garden (in pennsylvania).
