I've been trying to shoot these for a week, but couldn't get close enough. Today, I had two perch within a couple feet of the trail. Yay!

Congratulations...
...on your successful day of assassin shooting. (That sounds far more violent than necessary!)

I've yet to see this attractive and voracious species...

Thanks, Hartsi
I've been seeing/shooting robber flies as well, plus the spider wasps are starting to come out. Killer! Buckwheat is the hot tip this week.

Buckwheat...
Yup! I just found a big patch of it starting to bloom near my house and it was hopping! Mostly hymenopterans, but I did see the first tumbling flower beetle of the season.

Bad jokes...
I was just re-reading your title for this series and thinking how amusing it was... Then, it dawned on me that the perfect rejoinder would have been -- "Honey Mustard, I presume?"

Well, that's assuming he actually caught the bee...

Missed opportunities
A post last week was captioned "2 bees" but one turned out to be a fly. A day after I commented, I realized my response should have started "Or not 2 bees".

Ouch!
I would have been kicking myself for missing an opportunity like that... (*smile*)
