Bee assassin on mustard - Apiomerus californicus

Bee assassin on mustard - Apiomerus californicus
Riley Wilderness Park, Coto de Caza, Orange County, California, USA
May 20, 2009
These last two shots were actually the first I took, trying to get set up to photograph the assassin. Here, it made an unsuccessful attempt to grab a bee. (This and next photo can be frassed, but I do feel they're of some interest.)
