Robber Fly Of Some Kind - Eudioctria

Robber Fly Of Some Kind - Eudioctria
Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, North Carolina, USA
May 23, 2009
Saw several of these at the edge of the woods, on leaves, in the late afternoon. They were eating smaller insects and didn't like me coming near them. They flew away if I made any quick movements toward them.

Ok, got that filled out. Yeah, that measurement sounds about right. It was pretty tiny.

'tiny'
tiny is 2 to 3 mm; over 7, it's medium size; over 10, large
