Subgenus/genus Diapterna
as keyed from U. of Nebraska's New World scarab website; 6 species in the genus, 5 of them in AB as from this checklist (under Aphodius). Diagnostic characters- spinules on metatibia apex unequal in length, punctures on pronotum irregularly spaced, colour mainly black with various yellow markings.
