grylloblattid - Grylloblatta bifratrilecta - Sonora Pass, Sierra Nevada Mountains, Tuolumne County, California, USA
Sean Schoville found this grylloblattid in June 2008 at around 9000 feet. He's kept her at 4 degrees C since last year, on a diet of frozen crickets. Her abdomen is full of eggs (the dark area).
Identified by Sean. Photographed on April 30, 2009, in Sean's lab at UC Berkeley.
Hopefully I'll see one of these in the wild someday!
