Identification of this beetle
This far north there are two possible identifications.If the antennae are 12 segmented it is P. californicus. It they are 13 segmented it is P. lecontei.
The source is Chemzak, JA 1996

does the number of segments include the rounded segments near the base of the antennae where they attach to the head?
