Mesquite/grassland. This species has very recently emerged and is now very common, singing from the mesquites. Note the enlarged front femur.

This is indeed D. apache!
The "smashed" appearance in three of the images was misleading in relation to the image on the plant.

I recommend comparing this image with those under Diceroprocta apache.

The pronotal collar appears clearly divided (dark anteriorly and light posteriorly), a trait characteristic of some populations of the aforementioned taxon.
