Black butterfly with white stripes - Trichodezia albovittata

Black butterfly with white stripes - Trichodezia albovittata
Sharonville, Hamilton County, Ohio, USA

Size: 4cm by 2cm
This small, shy, long-winged butterfly was in a wooded limestone gorge in a county park in suburban Cincinnati, OH. It was not far from a stream. I did not see it visit any flowers, though there were many in the vicinity.

Maybe Trichodezia albovittata?
I am not an expert, but I am thinking that this might be Trichodezia albovittata, the White-striped Black Moth, in the guide here.

I am sure you are correct.
I followed your link and the photos match. It looked and acted like a butterfly, but it is obviously a moth. Thanks for the quick ID.
