Tripp's Canyon, Big Springs Creek, Big Springs Ranch, 7 miles N of Leakey, Real County, Texas, USA

dozens, perhaps hundreds of these leeches in one small stagnant shaded canyon pool, some while swimming appearing to reach 8 inches+, this one stretches to about five or six inches . . .
