Colletes
Colletes is a real surprise! I didn't consider this family. We do see Colletes louisae here in the fall, but although we see lots of bees in Anza-Borrego, we've never seen a Colletes in the spring. Thanks, Eric.

C. louisae flies in the spring too (see revision)
I think this is one of the several other species found in Anza-Borrego in spring

Colletes sp.
I appreciate the info about C. louisae as a spring flier. It loves Alkali Goldenbush, the major flowering fall plantin many areas of the Park, but we never see a lot of them, usually only one to two.

Maybe with this image in mind I'll be able to find other spring species in the future. Thanks so much, Dr. Ascher.

Cellophane bee.
Looks to be a female Colletes sp. Nice images!
