Spider - Metepeira

Spider - Metepeira
DeSoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
August 19, 2008
This individual lived under my wrought iron bird bath for over a week. My best guess is Metepeira labyrinthea. Do you think the other Orb Weavers hold her in disdain for her messy webs?

We would agree. It looks like a
Metepeira to us also, but we don't know whether there are other species besides labyrinthea in Texas

Evidently there are a few others,
but I can't find pictures of any of them.
