Robber Fly - Leptogaster

Robber Fly - Leptogaster
Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, USA
June 7, 2009
Size: 2.5cm
Definitely has predator tarsi. Found flying among similar sized (2.5 cm) damselflies. Perhaps Genus Leptogaster.

Moved
Moved from Robber Flies.

Hmm
Lovely shot of a male. And it is in Leptogaster genus. Looks like murina but not quite reddish enough. Any other angles? Or close-up of lateral terminus? This genus is tough from photos.

Different angle?
Sorry, the other photos varied from this angle by at most 20 degrees. I can see nothing additional revealed in those less clear and more distant images. Perhaps next time.

ID
Yes, this is a Leptogastrine Robber Fly.
