Tree Cricket Nymph? - Oecanthus

Tree Cricket Nymph? - Oecanthus
Anaconda, Deerlodge County, Montana, USA
August 2, 2005
Size: around 15 mm
Shorter and thicker antenna than I've seen on tree crickets in NC.

Moved
Moved from Oecanthus.

From Thomas Walker
Definitely a tree cricket and probably (from the coloration of the antennae), Oecanthus californicus. A minor problem with this ID is that O. californicus is not known from Montana, but records are from close enough. The other possibilities are O. forbesi or O. nigricornis, but these ought to be less robust than the nymph in your photo.

Yes, Oecanthus sp.
Sure looks like an Oecanthus to me:-) I think they "grow into" their antennae!
