We found this bug early evening, in the kitchen sink with dishes already dead. Is it a cockroach or beetle?

Wood cockroach.
This is a wood cockroach in the genus Parcoblatta, and a male (females are wingless). The characters needed for species ID include an area of the thorax concealed by the wings.
