Large fly ? on flowers - Promachus bastardii - Male

Size: about 1 1/2 inch
Saw this large fly - I think; it was on our flowers in front yard yesterday afternoon. It was only there for a few seconds but managed to get off this one photo.

This looks like Promachus. They are very large.
