Looks like a type of Swallowtail caterpillar, but was having trouble narrowing it down to a specific species. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
I appreciate all the feedback! I was leaning more towards palamedes after more research and lucky for me, this guy changed instars and is now a text book picture of a Palamedes Swallowtail caterpillar. :-)

I'd go with
P. palamedes

Swallowtail looks right
here are similar images on BG
Papilio glaucus, Easetern Tiger swallowtail

or
your other option is spicebush swallowtail, aka Papilio trolius

there is also palamedes, which looks like a very close match

The leaf looks like
Sweet Bay Magnolia, (Magnolia virginiana). If so, this is a common host plant for Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Could it be Camphor?
I find P. troilus on Camphor all the time here in New Orleans.

Swallowtail
Yeah it is a Swallowtail, but i do not know the specific species either.

Wow, great caterpillar
I saw this image and thought it was a decapitated lizard head!

...
I'm scared!
