I found this cocoon on a wild parsnip leaf on June 10. I took the leaf and cocoon and placed them in a plastic jar to see what would happen. There also seems to be remains of a caterpillar to the right of the cocoon.

Moved from Pimplinae. The pimpline is evidently a hyperparasitoid of the campoplegine that parasitized the caterpillar and made this cocoon. Here is a mesochorine ichneumonid hyperparasitoid that emerged from a similar cocoon:
