Caddisfly, moth, or neither? (1 of 5) - Lycomorpha pholus

Caddisfly, moth, or neither? (1 of 5) - Lycomorpha pholus
Dutch Fork, near Claysville, Washington County, Pennsylvania, USA

I'm thinking this is a caddis, although it could be a moth or something else. Whatever it is there apparently had just been a hatch as there were quite a few around and we were near the stream. Thanks for looking.

RE: Lycomorpha pholus
Thanks for the ID. I see that this moth is in the Tiger Moth and Lichen Moth family, Arctiidae. I actually Googled tiger moths as I'd just identified a Ctenucha virginica that I'd seen yesterday and I saw similarities in the shape of the body and wings.

What made me think caddis was the location, time of year, and how many of these moths we saw at the time.
