Treehoppers tended by ants - Publilia

Size: 3mm
Several tiny black treehoppers being tended by ants. Host plant was a solidago (goldenrod) lining a gravel road into a city park. The second image is a close-up of the insect on the right. Brown treehoppers with crests were on adjacent plants: adults of same species.
