Bentsen boat ramp spider wasp - Auplopus - female

Bentsen boat ramp spider wasp - Auplopus - Female
World Birding Center at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA

This critter was amongst the shoreline shrubbery adjacent to the boat ramp at Bentsen during one of my last few dragonfly walks there. Maybe some species of Auploplus? Its victim appears to be a Thomisid (crab spider)

Moved
Moved from Spider Wasps. I'm unemployed pending a transcontinental move (to Amherst MA), and have loads of pics to post, so am hoping to get caught up as much as the wife, kids, and home life allow...

No way!
I'm working at UMass right NOW! I'll be there until about mid-December. Let me know when you arrive and I'll try and be there to greet you.

That is TOO COOL
We figure to arrive in mid- to late August. Should still have a couple of months of quality bugs before the first frost, I think. See you then!

Nice!
Yes, a species of Auplopus, but I believe it is the other end needed for species ID (and the genus is in bad need of revision anyway). Nice to see you posting here again!
