Long-legged fly?
McLean backyard, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA

Size: one-eighth inch
A number of these were in my backyard; they settle on leaves flowers, but also hover. Per Audubon guide, it appears to be one of the long-legged flies, but doesnt have the dusky, spotted or mottled wings mentioned. Is it a long-legged fly?

yes, unmistakable dolichopodid
50 genera with many hunderd spp. north of Mexico
(wherever possible, indicate size, measured or estimated, in mm)
