Amherst, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
Size: @@1/2"
Found on the underside of a daylily leaf.

I'm not sure yet how good Nate's ID is. He can't ID his own, and the info page says "Species identification is problematic. It has been determined that several 'new' species exist, which can be separated only by subtle differences in their flash patterns. Most submitted images will remain on the genus page only because of this new finding." and your image doesn't show flash pattern.

Thanks John.
Thanks for the explanation. Guess a photo won't do. Even if I find another, we couldn't be sure if it was the same flash pattern, so I guess this will always be genus only. Of course, genus only is still a step up from calling it a "firefly".
And thanks just the same to Nate for trying to help. Much appreciated to you both.

Photuris sp.
This is a species of Photuris. Have yet to see one myself here.

Thanks Eric.
I guess Photuris is as good as it gets from what I just read. It was just sitting around our backyard garden.
