Blue Mud Daubber - Chalybion californicum - male

Blue Mud Daubber - Chalybion californicum - Male
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA
June 11, 2009
Size: 17.5mm measured length
Need help with ID on this wasp. The large round white things it is standing on are 48 inch florescent light bulbs, which it readily came to. The bulbs were lit up but the flash is stronger hence the shadows and secondary reflections which has a bright blue appearance to the underside of the wasp. I caught the wasp in a glass vial and was able to get a measurement on it. Didn't realize they were so furry.

Male
7 abdominal segments and 11 flagellomeres = ♂
