Killarney caterpillar - Eacles imperialis

Killarney caterpillar - Eacles imperialis
Killarney Provincial Park, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
July 29, 2005
Size: 3-4 inches
We saw this caterpillar going about its business while on a camping trip in Killarney Provincial Park, just south of Sudbury, ON. I have never seen a caterpillar so big and can't think of what kind of moth or butterfly it might turn into. Any help is appreciated.
