fly id? - Paragus
Just outside of Stockton, SanJoaquin County, California, USA
June 15, 2009
Size: approx 1/4 - 1/2 inch

I'm not an expert, but...
Paragus looks like a good match.

By the way: although artistic composition is nice, having all that extra space around your bug means that the system is forced to shrink it to fit on the page. If you crop it down to no more than 560 pixels for both the width and height, others will be able to see it at full resolution (only you and editors/experts can click on your image to see a more detailed version).

Paragus, confirmed.
Not an expert either, but I've shot a bunch of these. They've been quite in evidence the last two days in OC.
