Size: 1.5" wingspan, .75" body
It was enjoying some grass seed stems and other small flowers in a grassy field when this was taken.

In my opinion this is a Phyciodes phaon
Click on photo
Note the cream colored median band on the forewing of your butterfly.
Vesta Crescent in not found in Florida.
